Terms of Service

Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the agreement between Elevate the Space ("Company") and the Client ("Client") regarding the provision of renovation, electrical, and property improvement services.

1.2 By accepting a quotation, signing a contract, or making a booking, the Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

1.3 These Terms and Conditions apply to all work undertaken by Elevate the Space unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Quotation

2.1 All quotations are based on the information provided by the Client. Any changes to the project scope may require a revised quotation.

2.2 Prices quoted are estimates and may be subject to change due to material cost fluctuations or unforeseen circumstances.

2.3 Quotations are valid for 14 days from the issue date unless stated otherwise.

2.4 The quotation does not include work beyond the agreed scope. Any modifications, variations, or additional requests must be agreed upon in writing and may incur additional charges.

2.5 Additional consultations, site visits, or project planning beyond the initial agreed scope will be chargeable at the standard hourly rate.

2.6 Quotations account for:

  • Cost of materials.

  • Travel time if the site is more than 30 minutes away.

  • Required permits.

  • Labour.

  • Time spent sourcing, ordering, and collecting materials.

3. Scope of Work

3.1 Elevate the Space will carry out work as detailed in the agreed quotation.

3.2 Any additional work requested must be discussed, documented, and signed off before commencement.

3.3 The Client must provide unrestricted access to the property during working hours and ensure that essential services (electricity, water) are available.

3.4 Scheduling may be impacted by adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

3.6 Delays caused by the Client, including restricted access, lack of preparation, or late changes to specifications, may result in additional charges.

4. Booking and Deposits

4.1 A non-refundable deposit may be required for large projects, this will secure a booking and confirm scheduling. The deposit amount will be deducted from the final invoice.

4.2 If a deposit is required work can not be scheduled until it has been received.

4.3 The deposit covers essential costs including:

  • Researching and sourcing materials.

  • Purchasing and ordering supplies.

  • Project planning and administration.

  • Travel and site visits.

  • Labour allocation.

4.4 Cancellation Policy:

  • If the Client cancels after paying the deposit but before work commences, the deposit will be retained to cover preparatory work, administrative costs, and material sourcing.

  • If materials have already been ordered for the project, the Client will be liable for the cost of those materials in addition to the deposit.

  • If the Client cancels within 48 hours of the scheduled start date, Elevate the Space reserves the right to charge up to 50% of the total project cost to cover lost time and commitments.

5. Payments and Invoicing

5.1 A deposit is required before work commences to secure scheduling and material procurement.

5.2 The remaining balance is due within 7 days of completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5.3 Additional work will be agreed in writing prior to completion and added to the final invoice.

5.4 Late payments will incur a statutory interest rate of 8% plus the Bank of England base rate per annum, calculated daily.

5.5 Failure to pay within the agreed terms may result in:

  • Suspension of services.

  • Legal action, with additional costs covered by the Client.

  • Referral to a collections agency.

5.6 Invoices will provide a detailed breakdown of the work completed and any adjustments made to the original quote.

6. Warranty and Liability

6.1 Workmanship Warranty:

  • Materials sourced, purchased, and installed by Elevate the Space are covered by a 12-month warranty.

  • This warranty covers installation defects but does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or third-party interference.

6.2 Photo records will be taken upon completion to document proper installation.

6.3 Any defects reported under the 12-month warranty must be supported by photo evidence. Elevate the Space reserves the right to inspect and verify claims before any corrective work is undertaken.

6.4 Limitations of Liability:

  • Elevate the Space is not liable for pre-existing structural, plumbing, or electrical issues discovered during the project.

  • The Client is responsible for ensuring the property is insured during renovations.

  • Delays caused by supply chain disruptions, extreme weather, or external factors are beyond our control and will not be grounds for compensation.

  • Elevate the Space is not responsible for damage resulting from pre-existing conditions or work by third parties.

6.5 If electrical work is required, Elevate the Space will proceed only if the existing electrics meet legal and safety standards, a quote will be provided to bring the work up to BS7671 standard and so work can proceed.

7. GDPR and Data Protection

7.1 Client data is stored securely and used only for project management, invoicing, and communication.

7.2 No personal data will be shared with third parties without explicit Client consent.

7.3 Clients may request deletion of their personal data at any time in compliance with UK GDPR laws.

8. Dispute Resolution

8.1 In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt an amicable resolution before considering legal action.

8.2 If a dispute cannot be resolved through discussion, mediation may be sought before legal proceedings.

8.3 If legal action is required, disputes will be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
